Pastor Gillis Bio

Rev. Delmus L. Gillis II is the Senior Pastor of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clovis, NM. Pastor Gillis was raised in Clinton SC, and enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduating in 1991. He was stationed in Oklahoma, Texas, Japan, and New Mexico. Pastor Gillis is a decorated veteran who served in Operation Desert Storm, Operation Northern Watch Operation Southern Watch in Riyadh, Operation Allied Force in Kosovo and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He retired in 2014 after 23 years of active duty service. Pastor Gillis began in ministry at the New Hope Baptist Church in Oklahoma and went on to serve at the Kadena Gospel Fellowship in Okinawa Japan, the St. John Baptist Church in Clovis, NM, and now at the Bethlehem Baptist Church. Pastor Gillis has Associates Degrees from the Community College of the Air Force and Wayland Baptist University. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Liberty University Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry Degree. He is a board member of the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc., Western Region Coordinator for the NBC Board of Evangelism, President of the United Ministerial Fellowship of Clovis, and the President of the Jerusalem District Congress of Christian Education and state Evangelism Coordinator for the Mount Olive Missionary Baptist State Convention. Pastor Gillis was recently appointed to the New Mexico Judicial Performance and Evaluation Commission by Governor Michelle Lujan-Grisham. Pastor Gillis is married to Mrs. Stephanie Gillis and is the proud father of 4 children, and three grandsons.
